What attracts me to interior design is that it is not only about creativity but more about managing space in a way that promotes a sustainable, comfortable, and safe environment. Therefore, my long-term career goal is to develop creative, environmentally sustainable and human-centred interior design projects.
The Design of a Corporate Wellness Centre for Employee Well-being
Wellness expands beyond the physical dimension and includes mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental dimensions. Corporate employees in Canada experience work-related stress that affects their mental health and well-being. A corporate wellness centre is a built environment that can positively impact employee well-being through various recreational programs and wellness treatments. This thesis proposes a design of a multi-functional corporate wellness centre to deliver an upscale experience to employees. Guided by the concept of wellness and principles of universal and sustainable design, this thesis offers a strategy for how interior design may promote well-being among corporate employees.
