Suzy Rammal
I have always had a strong passion for residential design and an interest in hospitality and commercial design, which is why I chose to pursue a degree in interior design. I enjoy having the ability to create different experiences and atmospheres that are both beautiful and functional, and have a positive impact on end-users. I love spaces that are timeless, simple, and luxurious. I also appreciate how multifaceted the profession is and how there is always opportunity to continue learning.
Improving mental and physical well-being for women through the design of a spa and wellness centre
Thesis Capstone Project
The intent of this spa and wellness centre design is to create a space that will provide a rejuvenating experience for the mind, body, and spirit. The goal is to promote both mental and physical health, and reduce stress. The implementation of biophilic design elements such as natural materials, plants, and natural lighting will help connect occupants to nature, which will provide a calming and invigorating environment. To create a more heightened and engaging experience, the five human senses will also be addressed by integrating considerations into finishes, sounds, lighting, and calming scents. Furthermore, helping occupants feel a sense of place will be addressed through both private and social areas, providing clear wayfinding, and the use of finishes and materials.
