I have always had a passion for design and architecture growing up. Both my parents have worked in the industry and their work always inspired me to explore my own design path. Previously I was enrolled in architectural studies, but later found out that my true passion was interior design and space planning. I am really passionate about commercial design because I love creating spaces that are both aesthetic and humancentric. Post graduation I am hoping to work in a commercial company that focuses on the clients needs and interests. I am particularly fond of office and hospitality design.

Improving Employees’ Productivity by Designing Innovative Open Concept Office Spaces and Integrating a Variety of Working Stations

Thesis Capstone Project

The average full-time employee dedicates about 1,800 hours per year to work. Whether working from home or in an office building, the working stations should be a comfortable and an engaging environment. It is important for the working environments to continue to promote productivity and help brain function, or else companies will see an increase of burnout in their employees. Designers can create multiple working spaces that can be utilized by any employee and promote a more engaging environment. By having different areas of work, employees can take breaks from the same views and get inspired at different locations. This study focuses on examining the impact of the office environment on employee’s productivity and what evidence-based design decisions could help boost efficiency.
