Joasia Krasinski
My passion for Interior Design was established through childhood experiences of global travel and exploring museums, art galleries, architecture, and public gardens. The attention to detail and how these spaces made me feel left an everlasting impression to want to help create beautiful and functional spaces for others to enjoy. While currently pursuing a fulfilling career in a variety of global healthcare settings, I recognized the need for not only more functional spaces in traditional healthcare settings, but also the need to use design to create a more holistic experience for both clients and employees of these facilities. This has driven my passion to create human-centric design solutions.

A Support Centre for Mature Female Students Pursuing
Post-Secondary Education to Thrive Academically
THRIVE
Through the lived experience as a mature student, along with discovering a lack of existing research on this demographic, I have identified a need for supportive services and spaces to help reduce the specific challenges that mature women who pursue post-secondary academics face.
THRIVE is a supportive centre that helps reduce the barriers that mature female students encounter when they are balancing multiple roles in their lives. By understanding their unique needs, this space empowers women by offering a welcoming central place to encourage connection through peer-to-peer networking and the sharing of common experiences. A variety of formal support services are also offered by the use of flexible meeting rooms to meet with specialists for a variety of services so that users can excel academically. This is achieved by using the built environment to create of a variety of spaces that consider women-centred design details and integrating colour theory, natural light, and biophilia to help create a restorative and transformative environment for their success.
