LOOP

Natalie Opdebeeck

I have been passionate about design since I was very young. I grew up with a love for visual art, but I was also always drawn to technology and innovation. In a high school elective, I realized that interior design was an industry that blended all three, and it was something I could see myself pursuing. I quickly discovered how much I enjoy the challenges and opportunities that come with designing new spaces that support users in their everyday lives and make experiences within the built environment more meaningful.

Designing for Movement and Community: An Indoor Skatepark Promoting Physical Health, Confidence, and Community Engagement

LOOP

Designed in response to a community need for an indoor skatepark in London, LOOP is a multifunctional, weather-independent recreational hub that supports year-round play, movement, and social connection. Centered around an indoor skatepark and a skate and surf-inspired café, the project expands the definition of skate culture by integrating diverse recreational programs that encourage both active and passive engagement. Through opportunities for movement, skill-building, and social interaction, LOOP fosters physical health, personal confidence, and community connection while providing an inclusive, year-round destination accessible to users of varying ages, abilities, and experience levels.
